In 2011, Peace River Coal sought to replace its unreliable “tank-sticking” inventory measurement practices and meet new environmental mandates. Tank Farm Improves Accuracy of AST Inventory Management With SiteSentinel® iSite™
In 2008, we helped SKS Inc. improve the accuracy of their inventory management for 32 ASTs by installing a SiteSentinel® iSite™ tank gauge from OPW. The iSite delivered readings that were significantly more accurate and helped SKS reduce the amount of inventory being written off. Obtaining accurate inventory readings for 50-foot-tall ASTs has been problematic due to the antiquated technology that many sites use. OPW worked with a Toronto-based distributor to offer bulk-plant operators in the region a solution: OPW’s SiteSentinel® iSite™, AST Flex Probes and VSmart Module. The new system provided reliable inventory management and leak detection capabilities and significantly simplified the facilities’ wiring needs. OPW outfitted its FSC3000™ Fuel Site Controller with the Kardall network to deliver a Cloud-based fuel management solution to Alberta Fuel Distribution, ERS and Blue Wave Energy in Canada. Consolidating the information on one remote host enabled these firms to manage an unlimited number of users and transactions, while monitoring and controlling their fuel sites remotely in real time.
