Paul Nelson joined R&D Marketing (then known as Patron Equipment) in 1990. Because Patron Equipment, which was established in the late ‘70s, was the original rep company for Petro Vend on the West Coast and Canada, there has been seamless continuity in dedicated representation of the OPW Fuel Management Systems line for nearly 40 years. Paul has an extensive knowledge of petroleum equipment, with particular expertise in OPW Fuel Management Systems’ fuel control and tank gauging systems and software. Paul earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.
In his free time, Paul enjoys camping trips with his family and the occasional gig as a professional musician. Paul has also been a Nordic ski instructor and youth racing coach for over 20 years.
Since 2009, Chuck Softich has represented OPW’s Fuel Management Systems and Fueling Components Systems for R&D Marketing. Before joining R&D, Softich worked for Pacific Convenience & Fuels and Time Oil Co., as well as national convenience store chains. As such, he brings 30 years of invaluable “boots-on-the-ground” insights about the petroleum industry and R&D’s customers’ needs. Chuck studied at Montana Tech’s College of Mining Technology.
A native of western Montana, Chuck enjoys fishing and hunting around the Northwest. He also raises his own small herd of beef cattle.
Since 1977, the petroleum equipment experts at R&D Marketing have provided retail, commercial, fleet and bulk-fueling operations with industry-leading fuel management solutions that reduce costs, improve site safety and automate environmental compliance monitoring.
